The Reno International House seeks to connect international students and immigrants with local services to enhance life and build friendhips.
We work together with: University of Nevada, Reno. Truckee Meadows Community College, Northern Nevada International Center, local-area churches, and local Reno-area employers.

Friendships in Reno
Our main service is to connect international students and new immigrants with friendships during their time In Reno. We are motivated by Jesus' love for all nations and people, and seek to serve others. We are part of the International Students, Inc. network of service organizations. We were started by immigrants, and care for the foreigner in our land.
Although housing is one of our primary services, we also connect through social activities, Biblical counseling and services from local church volunteers and international student alumni.

Biblical Counseling
Internationals face many challenges living in the USA. This is especially true for Reno. The individualistic culture of this city leaves a need for care and a listening ear. Biblical counseling uses questions, scripture from the Bible, prayer and accountability to help internationals of any faith to see breakthroughs in their struggles here. We are the primary organization, through International Jesus Fellowship, that trains, connects and starts Biblical Counseling for international students and recent immigrants.
One example, is the need for international marriage counselling. Also parenting. Depression, loss, and family issues back home, can all effect your life here. Biblical Counseling specifically designed for internationals may be able to help you have hope and joy during struggle.

Our Team
Our team is made up of local volunteers and student leaders who seek to connect others. Many of us are immigrants ourselves and understand the challenges new arrivals to Reno face when living in the USA. We also know UNR, and the Northern Nevada region well. Many of us have obtained jobs with local employers who may be willing to help connect jobs.
We also serve with many local Christian churches who enjoy helping internationals, motivated by care for the foreigner in our city.
